I thought }when I bought my GS that I could get great stuff out of Basic. Donkey chips! Though I do not know how extensive they are nor what you want to do in terms of sound on the GS, there are extensive sound tools in the ToolBox. I think that is a VERY VERY VERY unfair complaint saying you want to do things from BASIC! For one thing, BASIC has remained virtually unchanged since 1977. Even if Apple DID want to upgrade BASIC (yeah right), I THINK it would be very difficult for them to do because of copyright agreements with MicroSoft. (That is just speculation on my part, it sounds reasonable because that's what Apple people said in reference to upgrading APW C, since it was originally written by ByteWorks or some other company).. To do anything reasonably complicated on most computers, you have to do it in assembly language or some high level language.. (other than BASIC). } So, for music/digital synthesis/no-extra-hardware voice synthesis, I'll }stick to the best...the GS!
