I have tried to use a Hitachi DK511-8 harddisk with a Western Digital
WD 1003-WA2.
  
Heres what I have done. 

1. My AT-bios has the drive-parameters ( 823 cyl 10 heads etc.)
2. I have tried to use the following low-level formatting pgms:
   WDFMT.EXE ,HDPREP and HDTEST .  
   The ll-formatting seems to go OK.

3. I have partioned with dos 3.30b and fdisk
   That seems to work OK.

4. I made a format c: /s and that gives the following fault when formatting
   should be finished :--->  format failed
                             bad partion table

I have used the same type of harddisks with adaptec-controllers without
any strange things. I have also tried several dk511-8 hd's ( I have a lot
of them)
No success !

What can be wrong ?
Im am very anxious to try these disks with the adaptec-contr because I have
feeling that the WD-contr is different in some way.
