Too good to be true . . ? Message-ID: <1990Dec12.105658.43341@vaxb.acs.unt.edu> Date: 12 Dec 90 10:50:58 GMT Lines: 27 Do you have any information on the reliability of the mail order firm _DAMARK International Inc._ or the KLH brand of 386 machines that they sell? I have recently run across an ad that seems too good to be true! The ad is for a 386-25 machine, with full 32 bit processor, (*not* a 386SX) with 80MB harddrive (28 ms access time); 1 MB RAM expandable to 8 MB on motherboard; one 3 1/2" 1.44MB, and one 5 1/4" 1.2MB floppy disk drives; 64K cache memory expandable to 128K; 16-bit VGA card: 800 x 600 with 256K memory; expansion slots: six 16-bit (4 available), one 8-bit, one 32-bit slot; 2 serial ports, 1 parallel port, 1 game port; five 5.25" drive bays exposed (3 available); 80387 math coprocessor socket; MS-DOS 4.01 included; 101 AT style keyboard; includes instructional video tape for set up; 14" high resolution monitor - .31 dot pitch, resolution 640 x 480, analog input signal, tilt swivel base. The price advertised is 1999.99 ! ! It's not clear from the ad if the one year mfr. waranty is for the monitor only. If you have any experiance with this machine or any information, please e-mail me your response. I am in a terrific hurry. And I will summarize to the net. Thanks for your attention. - Jhinuk.
