Subject: Initializing 3.5 floppies on 286 IBM PC

We have an IBM 286 PC (several years old) that we recently bought a high
density (1.4MB) 3.5" floppy drive for. Unfortunately, I guess this model came 
out before the high density floppy drives did because the setup programs/ROM 
we have can't initialize it. Are there any drivers or whatnot that I could
use to initialize the floppy with a minimum amount of pain/purchase?
