Message-ID: <1990Dec12.113026.361@debet.nhh.no> Date: 12 Dec 90 10:30:25 GMT Organization: Norwegian School of Economics Lines: 21 I was using Norton Utilities v5.0 to optimize my hard disk. This went very well. The next morning, however, i discovered that my PC would't boot up from hard disk. I was really terrified for a while, but I finally managed to boot from a floppy. I have tried several solutions for making my hard disk bootable again. The most obvious solution was to use NUs "Make disk bootable"-function. However, this didn't work. I think my system files are corrupted somehow. How can I repair this ? I am using a SPERRY IT (AT-compatible) with MS-DOS 3.1. Do I have to reformat my hard disk again ?. In that case, may I reformat one partition only, leaving the D: drive as it is ? Can I boot from D: ? Greetings Jarle Lerxen
