This machine went through 2 80 meg. HDs in it's first 6 months of life. Now it's software. When running applications, after a few hours it just begins to slow down. Even if only one application is running, this occures. When you check "About the finder", the system is using all available memory. In this last case, WhiteKnight was using 1000k, finder 250k (yes I increased it) and the system (6.0.5) gobbeled up the rest! Virus scans show nothing, the machine is running Virex init 1.82 (the latest) anyway. The assemblage of cdevs is not too uncommon. The only questionables might be sundesk or Coach. I've reinstalled the system, pulled out cdevs, increased the heap, the finder, and cursed some. Any suggestions. I've not seen or heard of this in the past. rbrink@hubcap.clemson.edu
