In msg 2798 rick Brink complains of slowdown on Iici after some use.
When you reinstalled the system software did you replace the system file?
Sometimes just running the installer wont fix a corrupted system file.
Also, have you checked for a corrupted font?  A bad font will do unpredictable
things to a Mac.
