I'm using password protection to prevent mounting of drive partitions with Silverlining, so I get the dialog box at startup asking for the password. Sometimes when I boot up, my keyboard is dead. The mouse, which goes through the keyboard, works fine. Just no response from the keyboard, even though I used it to start up the machine. When I don't mount the drives, I get into the Finder (my startup isn't protected) and go to ADBProbe in the Control Panel. A Number 1 appears where the keyboard is supposed to be. If I play with ADBProbe, it changes to 2. That's fine, so I exit and go into an application. I hit one key, and get a bomb. This happens only randomly, about once every five times I startup. In each case, when I restart, everything works fine. I don't think the INITs are causing a problem, since the whole thing works most of the time. I just don't want this to get worse. If anyone knows what is wrong, please tell me. Email replies appreciated. If there is interest, I'll post my findings. Thanks.
