Message-ID: <1990Dec13.180851.8997@csus.edu> Date: 13 Dec 90 18:08:51 GMT Sender: usenet@csus.edu (USENET News System) Distribution: na Organization: California State University: Sacramento Lines: 20 Nntp-Posting-Host: cube05.ccs.csus.edu A couple of nights ago I fired up my Mac Plus (Minus?) and saw that the screen was entirely black except for a line of pixels streaking horizontally across the top of the screen. After several reboots it went away and I forgot about it. Well, last night I got the whole left side about 4 pixels wide streaking across a blank screen, and having been told the day before that whacking the case a few times might help, I did just that, and with success. However, I do not wish to continue physically abusing my machine, and someone told me that the analog board is bad and by running it I'm risking frying the motherboard also. I know the Plus has sort of a reputation for the power supply going -- can anyone tell me if this is related? If anyone out there has had a similar problem, would you please let me know if and how you resolved it? I've been quoted a price of $186 for a new analog board no more robust than the one I have, and that scares me. Den ....................................................................... : Dennis M.
