The title says it all...
(I posted this on comp.sys.mac.apps and no response (from claris that is...)

Someone wrote and suggested that converted files were the culpret...
So I recovered a converted file, and tried again...

No Luck, I selected all lines, set them to hairline, and still got
thick lines (definitely not hairlines)
So far, creating a text box filled with underlines seems to temporarily
solve the problem...

OH YES: also another problem:
On alinging objects, sometimes, one of the outer objects will not stay put,
(as the inner ones distribute themselves) - it will jump in a bit??

I don't have the 'align to grid' turned on.

Any ideas there??
