Lots of questions about random functions in HyperCard:

Does anyone know how the HyperTalk random function work?  
Is it based on the toolbox random function?  
Is there a seed that can be set so the same sequence of random numbers is 
generated?  
Has the generator been tested for randomness?  
Does anyone have a XCMD that allows one to use different pseudorandom 
algorithms in HyperCard?
