In using some terminal emulation packages (i.e., Versaterm and Kermit), the forward quote (`) key on my Apple extended keyboard doesn't produce a forward quote. Rather, it sends an escape code. This only becomes annoying when I have to use LaTeX, where an open double quote is actually two forward quotes. The ways I've found around this are: for Kermit: change the Key macro to the correct character. for Versaterm: create an option-key macro. Since I use versaterm the most, I would like a better method to generate the forward quote. Is there some resource I can alter so that this key does what its labelled for? Oh .. and another question, is there a way to turn the numeric keypad on with some keyboard combination? I know there's a num lock light for some purpose... Any help would be greatly appreciated! --- Ian ---
