If one   comments the line in /private/etc/ttys that passes control at
boot to the window server, then you get a mach window.  I have tried
to change the various settings including stty so that the window would
be more than 8 lines.  To no avail.  Has anyone tried it.

I would like to sometimes gain some more speed on the 030 cube by killing
off the window server and all its baggage.  I like NeXTStep, but sometimes,
I would just like to have a command line.
if you have tried it, please let me know.
