I have been considering the purchase of a NeXT but cannot afford it
_AND_ a laser printer.  However, the Epson 24 pin printer, which I
already have, does a very nice job (up to 360 dpi they claim) and I
wondered if anybody has a filter that could change postscript to Epson
codes which I could send out one of the serial ports to the printer?

Yes, I already know I can send ASCII out, but it is the graphics stuff I
am interested in.
