Keywords: hard disks, NeXTstation Message-ID: <661123301@macbeth.cs.duke.edu> Date: 13 Dec 90 21:21:42 GMT Organization: Duke University Computer Science Dept.; Durham, N.C. Lines: 19 A NeXT representative here at Duke said that they will soon be switching from 340 MB to 425 MB hard disks for the "high-capacity" nextstation configurations, with the price unchanged. Since 2.0 extended is suppose to take up about 260 MB, this leaves more breathing room. This sounds like a better deal than the original configuration, but I am curious if anyone knows about prices and availabilities for 340 MB disks and larger that will fit into a NeXTstation and cost less than the difference between the standard and high-capacity configurations (about $1800 at Duke). Someone had mentioned in comp.sys.next a 550 MB disk that might be forthcoming. Is there anymore news of its existence and suitability? I will summarize any useful replies to the net. Henry
