NFS Automount on IRIX 3.3.1

Mounting the file system remotehost:/usr/lib/frame on localhost at
mount point /usr/lib/frame by the command

	mount remotehost:/usr/lib/frame /usr/lib/frame

works as expected.

Employing the automount process using file /etc/auto.master
containing the single line:

	/usr/lib   /etc/auto.indirect	-rw,intr,secure

and file /etc/auto.indirect containing the single line:

	frame	remotehost:/usr/lib/frame

on localhost results in the doubious mount

	localhost:(pid224)   nfs  0   0   0   0%  /usr/lib

and an unexpectedly  hidden directory /usr/lib even if the file system
remotehost:/usr/lib/frame has not been not mounted yet and the automount
daemon is running only.

Has anyone an idea what is going wrong ? Your help would be very much
appreciated.
