An RIA award provides a maximum of $60,000 over two years. The proposal must include a statement promising substantial institutional support. RESEARCH PLANNING GRANTS: January 15 CAREER ADVANCEMENT AWARDS: January 15 Research planning grants provide funds to a woman who has not been a principal investigator on a federal research grant to prepare an NSF research proposal. Each grant provides a maximum of $18,000 for one year. Career advancement awards provide a maximum of $50,000 for one year to expand research opportunities for women whose careers are still developing, possibly to acquire expertise in a new field. NEW TECHNOLOGIES PROGRAM: January 16 This program provides postdoctoral research associateships in computational science and engineering at research institu- tions with access to high performance computing systems.
