I know that when either of the processes die, the other process will receive a readable signal on the stream but the read will return 0 bytes, basically telling me that the line has died. However, I have a problem when one of the hosts crashes. The connection stays up, I can still write on the stream, but obviously I can not read. Is there some sort of procedure to detect a crashed host versus a busy host? Thanks in advance. William H.
