I am in the process of buying a new computer. I want a *cheap* and nice 
system that supports international word processing. In the Mac, they have
a logical to do foreign characters. The manual for
WfW shows a way to do it via the Alt+<ASCII CODE>. I much prefer to have
some sort of system like the Mac for producing foreign characters. One
could always write a macro, but then what do you do if you want to have
sharp, grave and carat accents on your vowels?

I think I am leaning towards getting a PC with Windows, but it bothers
me that getting foreign characters in WfW is so crude. (BTW, how does one
get Windows to produce foreign characters for file names, folders, etc?)
