The X11 System for the Amiga works fairly well using the DECnet protocol over serial line. Needs minimum 9600 baud though. Since the X system for the Amiga is capable of running local clients as well such as twm, olwm, and others you only need to actually connect over serial the actual clients you can't move to the Amiga.
