If you're interested in icoscreensaver and you're using a Sun, why not fireup OpenWindows and run icoscreensaver? You *can* run NeWS apps side-by-side to X apps (and also Sunview... but not as nicely behaved) in OW. I had an interesting fireworks screensaver written in NeWS that someone donated to the net about a year ago. You could also look at xlock from the MIT X tape (-lock disables the lock-X-server mode). It can show fractals ("hop" mode), YALP (Yet Another Life Program) and a qix mode. There's nlock from the OpenWindows tape. You could also look at the man page for Sun's lockscreen which indicates that you can run any "gfx-program" instead of the Sun Life patterns. Or you can turn the brightness down when you're not using the display for an extended period....;-> Frank G. Please be aware that these were only notes on *Advisory Locking*... ( ;-> I just couldn't resist! )
