Everything is working well so far, except that our many favorite SunView applications can't seem to run under the Xsun server. Sun's OpenWindows 2.0 has a SunView compatibility option which can be activated with an "eval `svenv -env`" command in the .xinitrc file. Is there a similar feature in X11R4 so that we can run SunView applications under Xsun? I read the section in the Xsun man page which describes starting up SunView, then running X11R4 xinit, then mousing between different screens to use both SunView and X. But we were hoping to run X11R4 as a one-and-only basic window system (on a single console), within which we would then run a mix of both X and SunView applications. This may be asking too much, but wanted to check to see if I was missing something. I suppose I misinterpretted the meaning of UseSunWindowsInServer. [We're in the process of comparing OpenWindows 2.0 with X11R4 to see how best we can begin using more X11 applications without leaving behind the SunView applications we've become dependent upon.] Thanks, -Bill McKie NASA Ames Research Center mckie@sky.arc.nasa.gov
