The title says it all.  I have a chance to buy a 9-months old Threshold
S500 - the guy wants $2000.  If I remember correctly, the price of a
new one was in the range of $4000 before they got discontinued.

This amp would go between the Audio Research SP-9 preamp and
Vandersteens 2c (soon to be upgraded to 3, or maybe Thiels 3.5, or
maybe Apogee Duettas ...)

Any opinions on the price/appropriateness of the S500 in this setup
are welcome ...
