Organization: The University of Wollongong, NSW, Australia Lines: 17 A short time ago I posted some comments regarding the relative merits of various RDBMSs. Some people have elected to take those comments rather more seriously than I believe they should. So, in fairness to them, I would like to point out to the readers of this newsgroup that benchmark information is, of course, notoriously difficult to assess, and simply quoting numbers out of the blue (as I did) does not constitute anything other than meaningless *rumour*, unless it is accompanied by detailed background information. My comments were not accompanied by such details, and so they should be treated as (at best) the unsubstantiated opinion of one individual. -- Phil.
