Lines: 20 I have a problem someone might be able to help out with: Running Open Desktop version 1.0 and developing an application using the Ingres DBMS, I suddenly one day boot my system only to find that the Ingres recovery process (probably dmfrcp) refuse to fire up. After a very long time it reports an error message just saying that it cannot start. What to do??? Could this have been caused by me stopping the system with a simple haltsys, instead of going through shutserver etc. Of course I did not haltsys in the middle of transaction processing, but maybe somehow the DB-engine was doing something that I did not know about. Anyway I cannot start my database, and I seem not to be able to run the rolldb command unless the database is started, so am i STUCK? :-o Answer either by e-mail or here.
