Keywords: DOS, OS/2, performance Message-ID: <1990Dec19.092055.11851@metapro.DIALix.oz.au> Date: 19 Dec 90 09:20:55 GMT Organization: MetaPro System, Perth, Western Australia Lines: 21 We have a client who is about to begin developing/implementing a Progress application, and he wants to know which of OS/2 or DOS will give him the best performance in a networked environment (with, of course, networked clients). We're primarily a Unix shop so we have no data on this. Apparently hardware config isn't a problem (they'll be using a 386/25 with as much RAM and disk as it takes), nor is the notion of dedicating the machine as a database server. If anyone out there in netland has any ideas or experience with this, we would greatly appreciate your input. AdTHANKSvance (and a merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you all). -- ----------------- David Eddy (dave@metapro.DIALix.oz.au) ---------------------- MetaPro Systems Pty Ltd. 328 Albany Highway Vic.
