But...in the experiences I've had with recalcitrant clients, I don't think the existence of an ANS Forth would have swayed the decision. Either they're open to "screwball" languages -- in which case my natural persuasive talents :-) have been adequate to sell Forth -- or they're dead set against it, and can marshal a dozen objections. The most common is, "who can we get to maintain/extend this software (besides you)?"
