What I need to do is to interpolate from an irregularly spaced grid to some arbitrary location within the grid. The code needs to be plain-vanilla f77 (i.e. no extensions, system dependencies, etc.) because we run the model on everything from PC's to VAXes to Crays and don't have the personnel to maintain multiple versions.
