I took pains to start my count after Rich assumed the moderatorship of c.s.u. The exact date was a little fuzzy, (I based it on the documented moderator in the "index" files in the uunet archives), so I may be off by a month. I believe I was accurate to within a single month, however. I also didn't count (most) items that were obviously "bug fix" patches to programs, *and* that were labelled as such. (One or two exceptions may exist. I *did* consider a new version to be an independent posting, though.) I hope this clarifies things a bit. -- John G Dobnick (JGD2) Computing Services Division @ University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee INTERNET: jgd@csd4.csd.uwm.edu ATTnet: (414) 229-5727 UUCP: uunet!uwm!csd4.csd.uwm.edu!jgd "Knowing how things work is the basis for appreciation, and is thus a source of civilized delight." -- William Safire
