I'm posting this for someone who does not have Usenet access, so please
reply directly to him:

	I am interested in any information regarding a toolset, ported
	to UNIX System V or written in "C", that provides OCR output
	from X Window Dump (XWD) or TIFF/F Group III facsimile input.  
	The OCR conversion routines should support a number of different 
	font sets.  If anyone knows of a commercial product or if anything
	is available in the public domain, please contact me at either
	uunet!apple!motcsd!fairfld!davel or davel@nj24.csd.mot.com.
