From my 'friendly local HP/Apollo representative' (he really is) -- The 68040 chips are shipping in limited quantities to HP-UX nodes only. Apparently, one of the Apollo requirements for backward compatibility was not met by the chips. Motorola is fixing them, and HP/Apollo expects to start Apollo 9000/425t upgrades in January. From me -- If this is wrong, please do not flame my friendly local HP/Apollo representative, who is probably being mis-quoted.
