Huntsville, AL Lines: 15 I run a bbs that stores messages one per file. With a typical hard disk partition, one cluster uses 2048 bytes. Disk Manager allows you to create (8M limit) a partition that uses only 512 bytes per cluster. This is great since most bbs messages are very short. However, adding and deleting these partitions requires reformatting, and that is not so great. There was a program, FILEDEV or sililar, that will create a 8M file with a device driver that will treat it as a partition. Thus, adding more would be easy. However, I read that it would not run on DOS versions > 3.21. If anyone has more info on this program, or similar ones, I would appreciate it. -- | ...!uunet!ingr!fordke OR fordke@ingr.com | Micro Magic BBS (Fidonet: 1:373/12, MaBell: +1 205 830 2362) | "and the Trees are all kept equal by hatchet, axe, and saw." -Rush
