Need info on GRiD GRiDLITE Message-ID: <39133@super.ORG> Date: 15 Dec 90 03:44:58 GMT Sender: news@super.ORG Organization: Supercomputing Research Center, Bowie, Md. Lines: 30 Help! Can anyone help me learn to operate my GRiDLITE? I just bought a used GRiDLITE for use in Graduate School and as a portable wordprocessor/database machine for my Coast Guard Reserve Unit. Unfortunately, the man who sold only used Wordperfect --- and then rarely did that --- so he lost the manuals and original distribution disks. I'd be interested in any information and/or software. (The GRiD resource Center has very little inforamtion any more on these beasts.) For Example: --- the Grid ResourceCenter says this machine has 1meg expanded memory but I can't find it with my existing software (from my Desktop Zenith). --- I want to boot with DOS 4.01 from the floppy --- can this be done? --- I have a disk full of diagnostics --- which I can't run. --- There are four empty slots in the back --- what can I put in them? --- Can I (should I) open the beast to install an 8087 or a V20? --- What is the pin-out for the floppy port --- I have several floppy drives that I could use --- if I could connect them. --- Can I get DOS 4.01 in rom? (I know it's a dog, but I have it on my desktop and I want to have the same version for network reasons.) --- Can I get other applications blown into ROM (Kermit? MicroEmacs?) ANY help will be appreciated! Peter Olsen pcolsen@super.super.org
