Could be, but I've seen this before.  Turbo Pascal 1.1 would do this if you 
did a in memory compile under Multifinder and ran the resulting programme.
OK, if under finder.  Somewhere someone may not have been following the
guidelines.

I solved the problem by consigning TP to the garbage can.

Not all system crashes are caused by virii :-)
