Lines: 34 Summary: Expires: Sender: Followup-To: Computer Peripherals' VIVA 2400 MNP5 external modem for sale. One month old, like new. (I decided to upgrade to a Telebit). The modem is fully Hayes AT Command Set compatible, (down to S register level). That includes the Extended AT command set for MNP level 2-5 control and hardware handshake. The modem supports 9600-300 bps synchronous/asynch rates between itself and the computer it is attached to. It comes in an atractive, tower case designed for continuous use, with LED ICON indicators and a faux-marble weighed base. It also comes with a five year warranty. I can supply or send info on how to build the proper hardware-handshake cables for the Macintosh computer, which will enable MNP5. It will work with any computer. Since it was pointed out to me that this modem can be had for $150 from a mail order place, I am willing to part with it for a lot less (even though I bought it for $185) The new price is $110, OBO-includes UPS shipping. The non MNP5 VIVA 2400 modem is advertised at mail-order discounters for ~$120. -- Veljko Roskar | roskar@jhuvms.bitnet Department of Chemical Engineering | roskar@jhuvms.hcf.jhu.edu The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore | uunet!mimsy!aplcen!jhunix!roskar
