I understand that directions on how to do this are available. If anyone has these online, please email them to me. I have been told that one replacement fan is Radio Shack part number 273-243a. However I also understand that this fan is not quite as powerful as the original part. Since I have a number of cards in my mac, I would like to find a replacement fan that is both quieter and at least equal in cooling ability. I have seen parts catalogs that list thousands of fans and rate them as to form factor, noise level, power consumption, cfm rating, etc. I would like a recommendation for a replacement fan that does the job. Failing that I would like the manufacturer and part number of the original part and I will find a catalog and replacement fan. I will summarize my results to the net. thanks in advance, (from my ears!) Bill Pachoud PS: To anyone at Apple who is "listening", :-> please make your machines quiet, it is really a drag and detracts a lot from the usefulness of the machine. Saving $5.00 on the fan is poor economics vs. some real "user-friendliness". I should not have to be re-engineering this box so I can listen to the radio and work on it at the same time! -- o Bill Pachoud _ /-_ billp@portal.com (_)>(_)
