Whoa! *Embarrassing* posts! Shall we tie him up and drag him behind a pickup truck, or is hanging good enough? For my USENET reading dollar, (read: valuable time) frequent contributions from an engineer who admits that he is "not heavy into EE" kinda beats reading vapor-postings from "experts". Correct me if I am off-base here, but one of the most important and valuable features of 'netnews' electronic publishing is that one does not have to be an expert to make an important contribution. It helps to check the facts, think clearly, and do a bit of editing, but I see nothing wrong with posting "part of the answer", or with admitting that one isn't an expert. I can think of now other forum in which a topic can be proposed on Monday, fought over bitterly on Tuesday, and be adequately resolved by week's end. I wish that the publishing in my own field could be so rapid and free of egotism! < I'm in materials engineering, anybody want to start a new newsgroup? > For those who insist on accuracy in every single posting, I recommend that you try to take your netnews with an electronic 'grain of salt'. -- Bill (johnston@oscar.ccm.udel.edu) -- 38 Chambers St.; Newark, DE 19711; (302)368-1949
