It creeps up and all of a sudden, pow: This disk is unreadable. Do you want to initialize? But dirty floppy drive heads can also do damage. This is especially a problem on publicly accessible Macs, like in a university setting. It's a pain to clean drives on a regular basis, but an important part of a maintenance schedule. Henry M.
