Wait a minute--Abaton was *here* with a scanner and "beta"
software something like nine months ago, and not only did their
"beta" look pretty much finished, it seemed to be more or less
fully functional.  No modifications to the NeXT software or special
drivers were required--it just plugged right into the SCSI port
and did its thing.
