You can get it by anonymous ftp from ics.uci.edu [128.195.1.1], in the directory TeX/eplain, and from ftp.cs.umb.edu [192.12.26.4], in the directory pub/tex/eplain. The distribution is available as a compressed tar file, eplain1.6.tarZ, or as separate text files, the most important of which are btxmac.tex, eplain.tex, and eplain.texinfo. (The umpteen other files are the test cases I have written.) Besides bug fixes, there are a few new features: * I wrote a macro to read an optional argument (enclosed in square brackets, LaTeX style), from the input. * I included the \futurenonspacelet macro from Appendix D of The TeXbook. * I define a control sequence \eplain, so that it is easy to tell if the format has been preloaded. * You can set a new token register \displayhook to do stuff at \everydisplay time. * The amount of space produced by blank lines after \obeywhitespace is adjustable. The BibTeX-reading macros (now maintained by Oren Patashnik) have two new minor features: * You can completely control the hanging indentation when the bibliography is printed (before you always got at least 1em indentation). * They make provision for a caps-and-small-caps font, in case your bibliography style wants to use such a thing. Let me know if you encounter problems. karl@cs.umb.edu karl@ai.mit.edu ...!harvard!umb!karl -- Tim Morgan
