I'm currently running A/UX on my SE/30 with 5 megs RAM and using a TrailBlazer modem. In fact, I'm typing this message using the printer port as a serial connection at 19200 bps to my IIci and notice only occasional performance hits, mostly when bnews (I haven't tried cnews yet) is doing an expire. I don't notice any (or maybe very minor) performance hits when I'm doing a news download, which usually has no problem going at the maximum speed possible for PEP (about 1260 bytes/sec). -- Andy Peterman | Opinions expressed treehouse!andyp@gvgpsa.gvg.tek.com | are definitely those of (916) 273-4569 | my employer!
