Id suggest following the list of topics under
"troubleshooting NFS related problems" in info explorer.
You will probably be using the rpcinfo and showmount commands the
most to do most of the debugging.

There is no limit to the number of clients that are allowed to mount.
There is only a limitation to which clients can mount and what they
can mount.  See exportfs and related topics to exporting file systems.

I'd suspect that the error message on your client system is not accurate.
