I am looking for information/personal opinion on the various toolkits around that can sit on top of X. The problem I am trying to solve involves building systems which should be portable to X, Mac and Windows-III and for now I want to identify what common subsets I will need to work within. So, what toolkits are there and how similiar are they? Can I pick up code written for Motif and recompile for Open-Look without editing? Are there other products like XVT which cover more than one platform? Also, do *any* of these systems give me text which can be rotated through 'n' degrees (where n is not a multiple of 90) without having to do my own bitmap rotation after drawing the text? Mail please as I'm sure the rest of the net already knows this stuff.
