 File New
 (You should now have a blank image above a color palette)
 Edit Paste from  (then select the B&W image)
 (You should now have the B&W image on your screen above the color palette)

 While we are on the topic of mixing B&W and color, try pasting the B&W
 dithered image over the top of the color image you started with. 
 Assuming you didn't change the size when you dithered, you get the most
 interesting looking results...
