Let me state my problem first. I have a 25 Mhz 386 with 4 Meg of RAM, AMI bios, running DOS 4.01, an Orchid ProDesigner II video card with 1 Meg, I've been having a lot of trouble installing the extented video drivers provided by Orchid, my problem is, after I install ANY driver, whether 640x350 mono or 1024x768x256, windows gives me a 386 protection error and I have to reboot. After that I can only run in standard mode, but that's not without its problems Most popular software like IconDraw, Wingif, Wintris, Screan Peace, HP Calculat or all give unrecoverable application error and crash windows. I have to run them in real mode. WinQVT is about the only program that does not crash windows but the font is too small and I have problems with backgroud transfer(another story). I assume these software are well-behaved since no one else seems to com plain. And I assume the drivers are ok too, again, other owners of the Pro II don't seem to complain. The error occur on every single driver, this leads me to believe that there is some intrinsic conflict between my card and windows. I discover when I click on Prog Manager-Help-About, my version of windows is 3.00.52, while all my friends have 3.0, also I don't have the item of Free System resources. Does any one else have this version. And could this be causing all the problems? Thanks for your help. Nan
