    If my understanding of Sun's shared libs and the X
    build process is correct, option 3 should be trivial to implement:
    just type xmkmf in the xterm and xload directories and recompile.

This should work if your libraries are already installed (but the
next time you rebuild Makefiles in your tree the information will
be lost, and you might forget there's a problem).
