Often, while running expire, I get the following message:



/u/spool/news/soc/: Not owner

Cron: The previous message is the standard output
      and standard error of one of your cron commands.


This appears every time expire is run, and the dir/file selection
seems random. No other users are on the system at the time, and all the
permissions etc. are the same for all news dir's. I am running BNews 2.11.

How can root not own a file?
