The last time I threw a large party, I wound up spending all my time in the kitchen and none with my guests. Needless to say, I want to exactly reverse that for my wedding party! I intend to provide large pots of chile and possibly soup for the non-veggies in attendance, and a large pot of something for my veggie guests. Suggestions for veggie or non-veggie soups, and especially for a good serve-yourself veggie dish, would be very appreciated. Vegan is best, but lacto-ovo will certainly do. Preparation time and cost of ingredients is virtually no object; I simply want something that I can prepare ahead of time (that means at latest the day before; not the day of the party), put on the stove, and let people serve themselves completely. Thanks!
