Thacker) Organization: AT&T Bell Laboratories Lines: 11 Approved: military@att.att.com From: Graper Brad P (MTSD/FIO) M1-equipped tank battalions have 58 tanks. four in each platoon with three platoons to a company, plus two in the company HQ = 14. four companies of tanks in the battalion = 56. plus two tanks in the HQ company = total of 58. that's Army tank battalions; the USMC battalions are bigger. Regimental cavalry squadrons have tanks, too....but they keep changing the organization every few years, and I don't rememberwhat they are now. Divisional cav squadrons didn't have tanks last I looked. --bpg
