No - he's about 10 miles away, and it's the same phone company.   However,
I did get an email that the way to fix it is to upgrade the tb+ to version
5.1 ROMS.  This is supposed to be a known problem.

I was also told that there is a hidden register to put the v.32 tones at
the end - this is what appears to confuse the tb+.
